VVT’s 2024 Sustainability Report is now available

In 2024, VVT Kiinteistösijoitus focused on sustainability for example by improving the energy efficiency of buildings, increasing renewable energy production, and certifying our properties with internationally recognized environmental certificates. We also acquired a new energy-efficient property in Tampere.

Sustainability is reflected in both our daily work and long-term decision-making. This means making sustainable and environmentally efficient investment decisions, responsible ownership, and providing safe and functional premises for our customers. Our sustainability work is based on three areas: environmental sustainability, social sustainability, and good governance. Through these, VVT promotes sustainable development and strengthens trust with its stakeholders.

Highlights of our responsibility measures in 2024.

  • During 2024, we participated in several sustainability campaigns, such as the national Energy Saving Week and Baltic Sea Day.
  • Tenant satisfaction has been on the rise.
  • We have improved the environmental sustainability of our properties and submitted new BREEAM In-Use certification applications. In addition, the rating of existing certifications was upgraded at two properties.
  • We have improved the energy efficiency of several properties, which enabled them to achieve higher energy ratings.
  • Some of our owned properties also have renewable energy production, such as geothermal and solar power systems.
  • Emissions generated by properties are mitigated by, among other things, purchasing emission-free energy products and implementing various energy efficiency measures.
  • The specific amount of waste decreased by 13% from 2023.
  • We promoted biodiversity for example by adding insect hotels and bee hives.
  • To promote ecological modes of transport, we built a sheltered bicycle parking area in the parking garage and added electric car charging points.
