Porarinkatu 1, Espoo LEED Gold certified

The property accomodating Forenom Aparthotel Leppävaara in address Porarinkatu 1, Espoo, has been awarded the LEED Gold Certificate.
The former office building was refurbished by YIT to a 130 room aparthotel. Forenom Aparthotel Leppävaara was opened at the beginning of 2016. Porarinkatu 1 is the third VVT-owned green building certified property.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is one of the world’s most renowned environmental assessment systems for buildings. It is maintained by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The LEED classification intends to reduce the environmental impact of buildings while taking into account also good indoor air conditions and other operating characteristics. LEED certification is based on an independent third-party assessment.
Ecologically sustainable operations are part of VVT’s responsible investment strategy. For example, approximately 70 % of office space owned by VVT is in LEED Gold or BREEAM Very Good environmentally-rated buildings.
